Cedar

Cedar
Cedar calls are made from the old world pinaceous trees, as in the Cedar of Lebanon, a stately tree, with a distinct fragrant reddish flair. It is a soft wood, so it has a softer sound. It is found in the hills of Arkansas. My wood comes from a late friend, Nelson Teague, of Wooster, Arakansas, 10 miles north of Conway in Faulkner County. We cut down some trees which have now been seasoning about 10 years. His friend Billy Wilson, the oil distributer, let us have a few trees, and they have been air drying ever since. They are ready to be turned into calls and itching to talk duck.
